I love this bead!

Our show Friday was so much fun. The crowd was light but it was very relaxed and we had a great time. Thanks Janet!

I finally got back to the torch. Between shows and getting ready for Christmas, I have not had much time to experiment. This is not what I started out making, but I let the glass just "tell" me what it wanted to be. The silver leaf and the ivory must have liked each other because there is more variation in color than normal. It is a fairly large bead - 42mm. long.

Last Show

A friend of mine, Janet Robinson, has graciously offered to have a show in her North Houston home on December 14th, where some of the Houston Hotties(our local chapter of the International Society of Glass Beadmakers) can show our jewelry. Most of us are finished with our shows for the year so this is a casual way to end our season. If you interested in attending, the show is from 2:00 - 7:00 pm, Thursday, December 14th at 16126 Lafone, Spring, TX 77379. Please email for more details. Janet's house is located in Wimbledon Forest between Kuykendahl and Steubner-Airline, South of Louetta and North of Cypresswood.

My Mom's Birthday

My Mother's 81st Birthday is this week. She has a peacock pin that she adores so I asked my Father to "borrow" it for me so I could try to reproduce it in beads. I think she will love the bracelet and earrings that I will give her to match her pin.
I have also been making leaves which are fun. When I have a large group, I will make them into one fabulous necklace.

New Items

November is almost over and that means Christmas is just around the corner. We had a great Thanksgiving at our house outside around our new table. The weather was perfect and all the food is gone so it must have been good.

Here are a few more new things. The organic focal has been spoken for and I love the new bracelet. It is much prettier in person and is very comfortable to wear. The encased crystal shaped beads really sparkle. The crystal press is a new one that I got to borrow for a month and it may be on my Christmas list.

I finally found some torch time. It was fun to be able to play again without worrying about deadlines. The Show on Nov. 4th was cancelled due to not enough participation. It is really sad because it has been such a good show in the past. I will try to get more pictures up soon. Thanks for stopping by.

October shows are finished

It was supposed to rain on Saturday but thankfully we made it through the show with only a couple of drops. Thank you for coming to see me. It was a good show and I met a lot of nice people. It is back to the torch for me and I can't wait to play with the new ideas that I have. This week will be busy because my Mom is having surgery. We are praying for a speedy recovery. One more show this month

I have a show Saturday at the Lord Of Life Lutheran Church. Making jewelry takes away from my torch time but I am still managing to work in a few hours. I will try to get more photos loaded soon. Come by to visit if you are in the area.

More New Things

I am still trying to get ready for shows. I had a Cortisone injection in my thumb yesterday to alleviate the pain. Let's hope it works!

My other current hobby thanks to the previous owners of our great little house. This has been fun and the fish have become my new pets with their own little personalities.

This one is in the same colors as before but more symetrical. My Van Briggle shell dish makes a great prop, don't you think?

Fall Schedule

My Fall show schedule starts October 7 at the Woodlands Fine Art Show at Market Street. I will also be doing Angels in the Woods at Lord of Life Lutheran Church on Panther Creek October 21st and the 14th annual Company of Friends show November 4th at the Robinson Road Community Center. That should keep me out of trouble. Now if I can just get some photos taken.

Something different with some branch coral that I have been holding on to. When I saw the color of this new glass, I knew that it would be a great match.

I wonder how many photos I can edit and load at one time? We have company coming over soon so I will try to get this done before they arrive.
